Scuba diving education courses held by the “Centro Sub Pozzuoli”, are designed to make learning enjoyable and worthwhile.

The lectures take place at the headquarters of the diving, equipped with classroom, multimedia teaching materials and free rental diving equipment provided during the course.

The validity of the courses and the experience of William Fragale (instructor Trainer NADD-CMAS and IDC ISTR staff. PADI since 1992) together with the professionalism of an efficient staff, allowed to patent over 2,400 divers of all levels to whom were taught basic safety concepts and skills and respect and love for the sea.

Basic Courses

This course can be considered such as the baptism of the sea. It is the first step to get closer to scuba diving. The course allows you to have the experience of a first underwater walking waiting to face a course more challenging and time consuming. Moreover the “Discover Scuba Diving” course allows you to breathe underwater for the first time, experience the thrill of being weightless and slip into the water, see the fish in their environment and admire the wonderful colors of the underwater world. For sure these are feelings that you will never forget.

The course will let you learn theoretical concepts on the underwater world and allow you to make an exercise session in confined waters with scuba diving sessions at maximum depth of 12 meters.

Prerequisites: Good health, be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. The ‘minimum age for this course is 10 years old.

This course allows you to obtain a patent for beginners with a validity of months, within which you can finalize the patent with a NADD or PADI Open Water Diver or CMAS *. “Scuba Diver” course is ideal for those who want to learn and start to scuba dive having little time available, without sacrificing the possibility to dive with the accompaniment of an instructor and then program the next most challenging courses. During the course, with the help of an instructor, three dives in confined waters with lectures to learn the basis and two open water dives will be carried out. During the course you will have the chance to learn most of the basics of scuba diving, including all matters relating to the scuba diving and the basic techniques to use the diving equipment. At the end of the course you will get the Scuba Diver certification that will allow the student to be able to scuba dive up to 12 meters, accompanied by an instructor. The course serves as a springboard for the Open Water Dive certification or CMAS * which gives the license to scuba dive till 18 meters as a complete diver who can dive independently with a partner or diving without the mandatory presence of an instructor.

Children aged 10 to 14 years old can obtain a patent Junior Scuba Diver.

Prerequisites: Good health, be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water. The ‘minimum age for this course is 10 years old.

To achieve this license, you will need just one week. Indeed, thanks to the modular course and the available multimedia material, you will have the chance to learn all the basics of scuba diving, including all matters relating to the use of equipment and the fundamental techniques of scuba diving. During the course, with the help of an instructor, confined water dives, lectures (theory) and a minimum of five open water scuba dives will be carried out.

Prerequisites: Good health, be able to swim and feel comfortable in the water.

The ‘minimum age is 10 years old for this course (OWD Jr.)

Advanced Courses

If you have already obtained with us Open Water Diver license or the equivalent of another training the next step is to take a course Adventure Diver. The license of Adventure Diver is obtainable in a single day and it prepares you to dive in some of the best dive sites. Together with an instructor you have the option to choose three Adventure Dives from a list of interesting options.

The license of Adventure Diver is obtainable in one day by completing three Adventure Dives of your choice from the list that includes: Deep diving; underwater navigation; Enriched mixture / Nitrox diving; night dive; underwater photography; multilevel diving; Wreck diving; Underwater Naturalist.

You can get the Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent ** once made two other Adventure Dives. Prerequisites: License Open Water Diver or equivalent. The ‘minimum age for this course is 12 years old.

The Advanced Open Water will allow you to develop the experience and knowledge of the world of scuba diving. To get the Advanced Open Water Diver, you must complete five Adventure Dives, to be chosen from the list which provides: Deep diving; underwater navigation; Enriched mixture / Nitrox diving; night dive; underwater photography; multilevel diving; Wreck diving, underwater naturalist, archeology. The dives should include the deep diving and underwater navigation, plus a choice of 3 dives, including those proposed specialty, to be agreed with the instructor.

The maximum depth for those who are PADI Advanced Open Water Diver is 30 meters, while for those who are Junior Advanced Open Water is given the depth of 21 meters.

 

Prerequisites: Patent Open Water Diver or equivalent. The ‘minimum age for this course is 12 years old.

 

During a Rescue Diver course you will learn how to recognize potential problems and prevent them before they become potentially dangerous and if anything problematic happens to manage effectively situations. In addition to being a carful scuba companion, a rescue diver is also a safer diver. You can learn how to assist a divers in panic, bring to the surface a diver who has lost consciousness, learn to rescue divers with no vital signs, perform medical first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers. During the theoretical part you can learn to identify the signs of stress in a diver and to minimize the risks associated with the different diving emergency. During the practical lessons the instructor will simulate underwater emergencies and you will learn how to make better use of available resources, administer oxygen and artificial ventilation techniques in water.
After completing the course Rescue Diver and have obtained the license, together with five levels of Specialties, the student can enroll in the course for Master Scuba Diver. That ‘s the highest qualification among those non-professionals within the system for underwater training.

Children aged 12 to 14 years old can obtain a patent Junior Rescue Diver.

A first aid certificate is a prerequisite for taking part in a Rescue Diver course. The Emergency First Response course, that lasts a day, teach cardiopulmonary resuscitation (C.P.R.) and cardiac resuscitation, as well as basic first aid techniques.

Prerequisites: To the Rescue Diver course, you will need to have achieved the PADI Advanced Diver or equivalent.

The ‘minimum age for this course is 12 years old.

The adventure up to the professional levels of recreational continues with the Dive master program. Working closely with an instructor, you will have the opportunity to expand yours theoretical knowledge and bring yours scuba diving skills to a professional level.

The Dive master training develops the ability to command and run a scuba dive, qualifying you to supervise diving activities and to act as an assistant during the student divers training activities. With this course you can learn how to increase yours aquatic skills, honing yours organizational skills and problem solving.

Prerequisites: Be Advanced Open Water Diver or CMAS ** or hold a qualifying certification from another organization, be Rescue Diver (or qualifying certification from another organization), have certified BLS Primary and Secondary Care within the past 24 months), have recorded at least 20 dives to begin the course and 60 for certification. The minimum age is 18 years old.

The most desired level by a dive professional: The instructor!

The “Pozzuoli Dive Center”, is a training center to become NADD –CMAS instructors. It annually promotes four dates, two in summer, one in autumn and one in winter, for training courses and exam instructor. The cost of participation fee includes instructional materials and license fees. The courses take place in the long weekend format or weekly, and for those coming from outside, charming villas are available for the stay.

 

Specialized Courses

During the course of the “Ultimate Buoyancy Performance” specialties, you will have the opportunity to learn to control the ballast in order to have the perfect control of the buoyancy, techniques to dive from the surface to the depth and back effortlessly, move in the water efficiently and gracefully, floating effortlessly and be suspended in current on the seabed.In the Ultimate Buoyancy Performance Specialty course, you’ll learn how use ballast precisely for optimum control, poise and balance. You’ll learn how to go up and down effortlessly, as if you could do it only in thought. Mastering hydrodynamics, you will move in water elegantly and effectively. You can swim near fragile environments without damaging or harming yourself.

Prerequisites: Patent Open Water Diver or equivalent. The minimum age for this course is 15 years old.

When diving with enriched / nitrox mixture the body assimilates minor amounts of nitrogen compared to the normal scuba diving with compressed air allowing safer diving and, within certain limits, a longer permanence close to the bottom of the sea. This course has a duration of at least 2 days with a theoretical part and at least 2 dives.

You will have the opportunity to learn how to plan and conduct enriched / Nitrox mixture scuba dives, analyze the oxygen content of the scuba tanks, use the related records and know the procedures perform a proper use of scuba tanks loaded with Nitrox.

The license specialty allows you to dive with enriched / Nitrox worldwide.

Prerequisites: Patent Open Water Diver or equivalent. The minimum age for this course is 15 years old.

In this course you learn how to plan and run deep scuba dives, safely taking into account the type of equipment required, nitrogen narcosis, the prevention of decompression sickness and potential problems.

This specialty is particularly useful for those who wish to learn techniques to make deep dives up to 40 meters, for which, in some places in the world, the license in Specialty Deep Diver is needed.

The course is divided into a theoretical section and a practical part consisting of 4 dives.

Prerequisites: Patent Adventure Diver or equivalent. The minimum age for this course is 15 years old.

If you prefer to stay dry and warm under water is necessary to use a dry suit. Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit completely isolates you from the water.

Specific Courses

Take pictures under water adds a new dimension to scuba diving: the pleasure to review and share with friends what you’ve admired exploring the seabed. In this way you can remember and set the emotions felt during the scuba dive. In addition, the underwater camera is a great tool to increase ypur knowledge of the marine plant and animal species.

The “Pozzuoli Diving Center” offers an underwater photography course that is based on the acquisition of theoretical bases of optical physics, photo d ‘author, macro, photos of the environment and other important aspects of digital underwater shooting.

The course offered by “Pozzuoli Diving Center” provides: two lessons in the classroom with projection of audiovisual, practical applications, visiting sites of historical and archaeological interest. The course includes 4 dives and laboratory applications. It relies on the presence of specialized archaeologists in archeosub.

The course is open to divers in possession of ARA diving certification, interested in acquiring a basic training on documentation techniques in underwater archeology. The course is divided into theoretical and practical sessions taught by specialists. During the practical activities that will take place in the sea you will experience a variety of techniques, with the use of the equipment normally used in research and underwater documentation.

It is a new way of seeing the marine world that comes to life at night, in fact, under the light of torches, everything appears with the original colors without the effect of absorption of light. This course is inevitable to complete the panoramic of the underwater environment allowing you to appreciate the wonders of the underwater world.

The course provides students with all the theoretical and practical knowledge to scuba dive at night or in dark environments safely. Application provided 4 dives and two scuba dive theory lectures about the night scuba diving, how to use the equipment and the hand signals, the study of the biodiversity present in the night environment and safety conditions.

The wreck dive is a type of diving that focuses on the exploration of the wrecks. These can present various difficulties to face: fishing nets or fragile structures that can inadvertently fall down often surrounds them. So the penetration inside a wreck requires a lot of experience and advanced training. Some wrecks are in shallow but many are at a depth of recreational diving limits.

 

The course includes learning the safety rules for diving on the wreck, two theory lessons on the risk of diving the wreck, sinking story and history. The practice part in water includes three boat trips.

The course consists of two days in which, in the diving workshop, we will proceed to disassembly and reassembly the diving equipment and you will have the opportunity to learn how to handle failures that may arise.

The course is open to all those who, for business or pleasure, should be able to know perfectly at least 10 sites in the Gulf of Pozzuoli, so you can act as a guide, professional or amateur, of scuba diving groups.

The course consists of 5 lectures and 20 dives in order to learn the sites. Afterwards the candidates will drawn up maps of the dive sites reporting the geomorphological and biodiversity in the sites and learn how to conduct in such sites scuba divers groups.

The course is reserved for instructors and dive master certificated and insured of any teaching.
